Microsoft Office Live Small Business is gone

Service has been turned off. The only option left is to recover your mail accounts. We can help you to move your email, calendar and contacts.

You requested an access to your web site content during Sunset, now what?

Microsoft will take some time to:
a) Confirm your ticket is received (24 hours)
b) Enable your account (delay may vary)
c) Provide access to your content during 72 hours

After you receive Microsoft service request confirmation, you should regularly check if your access has been restored.

Of course we recommend that you leverage your access window by using our services. If you plan to try alone, notice that a next access request will have to follow the same process again.

How to overcome PowerShell complexity for advanced administration?

You discovered that messaging administration in Office 365 is extremely powerful. You can grant a user the right to access another mailbox. You can grant another the right to handle your calendar; etc.
Most advanced administration tasks require going through PowerShell. Way too complex for the average Joe.
We can help you for FREE to do such advanced administration tasks.
To send us such a request, activate our special delegation at http://delegate.valor.pro. Then contact us with your request and we will try to help.
Good luck.

Too much security can be pain in the ass

In Office 365, you password needs to match specific complexity criteria. Your password must be more than 6 characters long; it has to include capital and numbers, etc. Each three months, you wil have to change your password… And these are only some of the rules preventing you to choose freely your password.
You can prevent your password to expire, but the way to do that is complex and cannot be achieved through the administration interface. I can be done using PowerShell commands. Way too complex for the average business owner.

Lots of new features in Office 365 messaging

You were using Office Live with its Hotmail technology. You can do so much more with Office 365!
For example, your mailbox can have as many aliases as you need. Aliases are email addresses attached to your mailbox, for example, if your main address is John.Doe@comic.org, you can stick jdoe@comic.org, john@comic.org or simply zorro@comic.org. More, if you have another domain added to your Office 365 subscription, you can add aliases using your other domain like zorro@comic.net. You do not have to pay for theses addresses; you only pay for your mailbox.
If you have several mailboxes because you have several people coworking, you can create free distribution lists. Such a DL is an email address not attached to any mailbox, but forwarding to any of your mailboxes. For example, you can create marketing@comic.org or info @ or contact@ etc., then you list in the recipients you want to forward to.
Say: convenient!

OLSB 730 new release 3

We released today, May 2, a new major release of our transition utility. This version set a major milestone in our development. Out of critical bug fixes, we added a backup feature which download locally all your Office Live web site assets. You will find everything in a folder “my domain”, in the My documents space.
We do not plan to work anymore on this utility, as we will have no time to code new stuffs before Sunset ends, in June. We hope you enjoyed our efforts and if we DID help you, please give us good credits on Microsoft Pinpoint, forums and so on.
Good luck in your transition!

How to recover access to my Office Live account?

Microsoft set up a process to recover access to your account for a 72 hours window. When you request access, the delay starts approximately the day after. Go to http://recoverolsb.valor.pro.
We can proceed to recover your assets, Web site mailboxes and more. Just visit our services store at http://valorconseil.fr/store.

My old OLSB mailbox still receives messages, why?

It is due to a DNS internal federation issue. When a mail user sends an email from INSIDE Microsoft Datacenter to you, it is possible that your OLSB mailbox is in the same datacenter. The mail router detects that there is an internal server knowing your email address and the mail does not get out to Internet. This can happen more often than expected, as Microsoft federations include live.com, msn.com, hotmail.com, yahoo, etc.
To overcome this issue, you need to set a rule on your old mailbox to redirect all incoming emails to your Office 365 mailbox. Problem is: you cannot forward to yourself, so you have to use your preliminary identity, ie: alias@mydomain.onmicrosoft.com or something similar. If you destroyed this alias, you need to create any alias with such domain attached to your Office 365 mailbox.

How can I transfer my OLSB mailbox to Office 365?

If you want to recover all your PIM assets (Personal information management) including mails, calendars, contacts, tasks, etc. The only way is to use Microsoft Outlook version 2007 or 2010. Your Office 365 trial includes an Office Pro Plus license that you can use for this purpose:
1. Associate a trial Office license to your account in Office 365
2. Download and Install Office 2010
3. Download Hotmail connector for Outlook
4. Install the Outlook Connector for Hotmail
5. Create an Outlook profile with NO mail account
6. Start Outlook with NO mail account and the connector will ask to connect to your Hotmail (OLSB) mailbox.
7. Download all your mailbox content (it can take a while)
8. Export the root folder to a .PST file and check the “include subfolders” option.
9. Add your Office 365 mail account
10. Select your Office 365 mailbox root then import your previously created .PST file with default options
11. CRITICAL: Wait until Outlook status display “All folders are up to date”. If you see “This folder is up to date”, it means your mailbox is NOT complete.
Of course, you can use our service to process all your mailboxes.

Will I be able to access my emails after Office Live Sunset?

Yes. Your Office Live mailbox will be available to you six month after Office Live Sunset.
We strongly recommend that you program a mail redirection from this Hotmail mailbox, to forward all new incoming to your Office 365 mailbox. You will have to use your me.onmicrosoft.com address to avoid conflict with locally known identity.
